All Cruelty Springs From Weakness

When we think of cruelty, we must try to remember the stupidity, the envy, the frustration from which it has arisen. Edith Sitwell

I learned that it is the weak who are cruel, and that gentleness is to be expected only from the strong. Leo Rosten

The best political weapon is the weapon of terror. Cruelty commands respect. Men may hate us. But, we don't ask for their love; only for their fear. Heinrich Himmler

One of the ill effects of cruelty is that it makes the bystanders cruel. Thomas Fowell Buxton

All cruelty springs from weakness. Seneca

Here in New Jersey, our so-called statesmen, see cruelty as a tool to further their political agenda.

Take for instance Senator Lesniak who told New York Magazine that Christie “looks hideous! And unhealthy... That doesn’t portray the discipline that’s necessary to lead this state.”

Or how about the double-dipping State Dem Chair, Assemblyman/Undersheriff Joe Cryan who last night asked a crowd of Essex County Democrats “What would it feel like if the next governor weighs 350 pounds?”

Usually people who have one prejudice, have many buried in their closets.

Christie does his job and he does it exceedingly well and that's not something any of these guys can brag about, including the Governor. It must be frustrating indeed.
