Gov. Christie isn't rushing to sign the bill that would give home buyers up to a $15,000 tax credit spread over three years and I'm glad to hear it. First, NJ can't afford it. Second, why should new home buyers be rewarded while the rest of us loyal, long suffering over-taxed taxpayers get nothing?
Another thing that bothers me is that $75 million, would be set aside for newly constructed homes, while $25 million would be for previously occupied homes. This is wrong. If anything, it should be the opposite way around. It's clear that by setting aside more money for new construction, our legislators seeks to help builders and developers over its own New Jersey residents.
There's a reason why homes aren't selling. The masterminds should try fixing the things that make NJ so unaffordable and stop with the gimmicks.

I watched the last council meeting on t.v. over the weekend. Council President Bunk specifically indicated that no comments were to be made by the public concerning on-going litigation. Why then did he get a pass when he brought on-going litigation into the campaign?
I am confused by that and wrote about it pre-election when I received a flier. Perhaps the litigation has been settled? I'm told that it was, but I haven't been able to confirm it yet. The settlement amount is horrifying if what I hear is true.
