The Associated Press is reporting that Ex-Assemblyman Neil Cohen will be arraigned on Tuesday, March 10th.
Cohen was indicted on December 17, 2008. That's a pretty disturbing amount of time it took to schedule an arraignment in this case. Why not today or tomorrow? I find it difficult to believe that there is any legitimate reason why Mr. Cohen was allowed such an inordinate amount of time, especially in light of the charges against him involve crimes against children. If these charges were brought against John Q. Public, you can bet Mr. Public would have been jailed or arraigned at head-spinning speed.
It's just not right.
