John Bury has posted Part 4 of his series on the Union County Improvement Authority Renewable Energy Initiative here.
In a previous NJ Voices column, Bury cites the "pushers" of the project here. One of the "pushers", PMK, was in the news yesterday regarding an investigation into PMK's role with the Bergen County Improvement Authority on a park project. Naturally, in Soprano State style, the story includes a landfill.
From The Record:
"Records show that PMK’s original contract with the BCIA has been amended 10 times and mushroomed from $4.4 million in 2005 to more than $23 million today."
"Current professional-services contracting practices at many government entities fail to guard against unfair favoritism and waste of taxpayer dollars."
Read the rest here. What a seedy cast of characters.
