Newspaper Nazis

Hackensack University Medical Center apparently upset, not about corruption, but the actual reporting of corruption, has cancelled advertising contracts with The Bergen Record, which also publishes on-line @ NorthJersey.com. It has also taken the draconian step of banning the sale of that newspaper from its property. In effect, the hospital is censoring its patients' choice of reading material.

The Bergen Record, IMO, does an excellent job of keeping the public informed. You will find stories not reported in the Star Ledger. It has done extensive reporting on Encap, Xanadu, ex-Senator's Joe Coniglio's pro quo quid position with the hospital, and other scandals too numerous to mention. Apparently the hospital doesn't like that kind of reporting.
