Lesniak is really serious about legalizing sports betting. In fact, so much so, that he's going to file a lawsuit against the federal government in the next two weeks he says.
You really have to laugh at our lawmakers pushing this crap because of their own failed financial policies and instead of working on solutions, they are looking to bettors to help bail our sorry asses out of the financial hellhole they put us in. It's sad that this is what they are reduced to and it's sadder that we actually pay their salaries to pursue actions like this while Jersey taxpayers are being hit hard because of their mismanagement.
What Lesniak could be doing is filing a lawsuit to remove his nephew as County Manager. That would save Union County taxpayers untold amounts of money. Better yet, Lesniak was very successful in abolishing the death penalty ... why not abolish County government? What a book that would make.
Or how about getting rid of the UCIA? There's an agency filled with hacks which isn't working out too well and is a drain on Linden taxpayers.
There are plenty of places to find revenue ... they just don't look hard enough.

Hope we hear some news on ucia soon
Something is definitely in the works ed. It should be making the news soon. I'm hearing a certain someone, from Linden as a matter of fact, who is connected to the very machine we speak of, may have gotten a subpoena today. I don't know if it's related to dirty Union County dealings or dirty Linden dealings. Hang tight.
Do you think Tony & Frank Rose told the feds everything? I don't think they would risk a reduced sentence by leaving anything out. Remember, the words "this investigation is not over by a long shot".
sights on penn lots of news
I linked you.
Thanks ed. I have a lot of reading to catch up on. I bookmarked the site & will read as soon as I can.
It's an honor Abe. I am a frequent reader of your good blog as well as other blogs out of Monmouth County such as Art's.
Miss "The Voice of Reason" :(
Just finished reading about the tax assessment appeals. I don't know ed ... between the juvenile centers and the Judges' involvement, I think PA is at least even, if not ahead, with NJ when it comes to corruption. That's saying something. We had our share of juvenile and county jail problems as well ... most due to having incompetents in charge, which, unfortunately, has resulted in some deaths. Here, they laugh it all off.
Robert K. Mericle is a big fish but i think he has a big backer anybody in his wake is toast
